Facilitator Bio:
Hi! I’m Nina Benson, and I’m a 200-RYT passionate about bringing yoga to the community in an easy, assessable, affordable, and an enjoyable way.
I first started my journey with yoga while in my last pregnancy, desperate to find something to help relax my aching body from the transformation that it was going through at the time. So I started yin yoga in my living room, shortly after finding much relief and added flexibility. My son was 9 pounds! I was forever grateful for trying this practice of yoga after what my body was going through.
I came back to my practice slowly on and off for the next 12 years until I decided to join the Prana Center in Grand Blanc, Mi. I attended a few slow flow classes before coming to the realization that I wanted to become a yoga teacher!
After an amazing experience at Prana I started teaching yoga at the Wilderness Trails Zoo in Birch Run, Mi—in their Rainforest exhibit and with the zoo crew kids! I’ve met many levels, ages, and abilities throughout the teaching that I’ve done so far.
One thing I’ve learned from meeting so many people new to yoga is they all are looking for something that’s going to be simple and easy to follow. Also, finding the right community can be an added bonus and benefit! I believe this can bring you closer to a supportive environment that you can reflect in your own at-home practice.
In my time I like to write poetry, make fun videos, hang out with my kids, pets, & family, gardening on our mini farm in Millington, and practice new yoga sequences!
