Our day retreat opens in the stillness of Akasha – space, with a live sound bath. Bowls, gongs, drums, chimes, and other instruments will create a rich tapestry of sound, inviting you to relax, reconnect, and experience the elements in a deeply resonant way.
Gentle breathwork and movement then awaken Vayu, the air element, ending in a warm oil anointment for the sense of touch.
In Trataka, rest your gaze on a single candle flame, letting tired eyes soften and the busy mind grow quiet. Alochaka Pitta in the eyes takes in what we see, and Sadhaka Pitta, seated in the heart, digests those impressions into feeling and understanding, so soothing the eyes becomes a gentle way of soothing the heart.
A taste ceremony invites you to savor each of Ayurveda's six tastes one small taste at a time, feeling the way your body softens or wakes in response.
We then gather for Ahara, a warm bowl of traditional kitchari, lovingly prepared by chef Josie Clemens, a Food Network alumni and the first vegan chef to compete on Hell's Kitchen.
Over lunch, Basics to Wellness shares a gentle conversation on water, the essential elixir of life.
In the afternoon, botanical oils handcrafted by Monique Herzig of Alchemy Slow Living carry us on a scent journey through all five elements, ending with a small gift to take home.
An elemental body scan meditation lets you rest on your mat and feel each element settle within you.
The day is sealed in a closing circle, where noble silence gives way to wise speech, sharing quiet reflections before you return home.
Rooted in the Pancha Panchaka, this day of Ayurvedic Subtle Therapies offers each sense organ, or indriya, its proper object, so that soul, mind, organ, and object may align in Pancha Indriya Buddhi, the clear recognition of conscious experience.
Close out 2026 grounded in your body.
